The Portofino Restaurant, established in 1992, is situated in Freising, we are also just 5 Kilometers from Munich’s Franz Josef Strauss Airport. The creative cuisine is an invitation for every client to come and sample typically Italian dishes based on fish, meat and vegetables. Even the breads, pastas and desserts are homemade. 

The homely and attentive atmosphere plays host to themed evenings, working dinners or business lunches and, should there be a need to cater for ceremonies, weddings or buffets, we are happy to place rooms at your disposal. In the summer dine in the garden, located in a courtyard whose access is restricted to all but pedestrians. The atmosphere at Portofino is that of a real Italian Restaurant: a place to which to go often and be certain that you will always get good value for money. Here the fish is particularly fresh, supplied twice a week from the best wholesalers; on Saturdays we buy it ourselves directly from the market. We offer simple menus that aim to bring out the best of the intense flavors of the fish without elaborate procedures.

As a starter to your meal we would like to suggest the abundant mixed seafood antipasto, then among the excellent first courses, Linguine pasta all'Erminia or Energy Seafood Risotto, Tagliatelle with salmon sauce and Spaghetti with Scampi. If you are in the mood for eating Lobster, Spiny Lobster or other fish prepared in another way - for example alla Calabrese, or Au Gratin - these can be ordered in advance. The fried fish is delicious but you should not miss the chance to try our grilled fare either, as well as large whole fish roasted in the oven.

As a worthy accompaniment there should, of course, be a good white wine and we have a commendable selection from proven cellars to offer. Should your party include someone who does not care for seafood – as sometimes happens - never fear: the evening will not be marred by this small inconvenience. We also have wonderful meat, delicious home made pizza and pasta in a special menu which, while it might make the all seafood purists turn up their noses, is nonetheless appreciated by many as a welcome alternative.

In the end, it is this flexibility as well as their bravura that have allowed Carlo and Incoronata to build up a solid reputation and a very loyal following.
